Mandi Read

Third Grade

Philippians 4:6-7

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Mandi has been in the Roaring Fork Valley for about ten years. Before moving here, she lived in Texas and Alaska. She spends most of her time outside of school following her two teenagers around, Jacey and Donny, to sporting events. In her my spare time, she loves trail running with her furry companions (Kenai and Bauer), gardening, camping, and spending time with her husband, Mark.

Both of Mandi’s parents were teachers. For as far back as she can remember, ‘playing school’ was her favorite thing to play as a child.

After 20 years of teaching, if you asked Mandi what her dream job would be, her answer is still teaching. The first 14 years of her career, she was a special education teacher. Mandi has worked with students with severe needs to learning disabilities, from kindergarten to high school. The past six years she has been teaching 3rd and 4th grade language arts at Carbondale Community School. Mandi is thrilled for this next chapter in her teaching career.
